  2. Preserving LSIB land, natural resources, and wildlife.
  3. Upholding LISB culture, language, and traditions.
  4. Working to protect LSIB Title and Rights.

Who We Are

sḱʷlkʷalt Forestry LP is an economic development entity of Lower Similkameen Indian Band. The board is comprised of several Lower Similkameen band members with backgrounds in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, and Finance. The board is hands on, often going out with the crew to be on the land and see what work was done. The crew is made up of Lower Similkameen band members and other local community members. The crew is trained in forestry practices, fire management, and land stewardship. They are trained in modern forestry practices, as well as Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK).

What We Do

sḱʷlkʷalt Forestry LP is a business that focuses on harvesting, reforesting initiatives, and land stewardship. We follow syilx Forestry Standards, which are based on traditional ecological knowledge and modern forestry practices. The sḱʷlkʷalt Forestry LP also give back through their Community Assistance Initiative, which provides support to Elders in need of Fire Smart yard work, and committees such as the Chopaka Rodeo Committee and Similkameen Pow Wow of Champions committee.

Where We Work

sḱʷlkʷalt Forestry LP operates in the Similkameen Valley, with a focus on sustainable forestry practices and land stewardship. Sites include IR #13, Little Chopaka, the Ashnola Corridor, and Olalla.
